PANORAMIC TRAIL OF ROCCA CLARI2051 m  

â–º SATURDAY 2 JULY / THURSDAY 4 AUGUST / *

Quiet excursion along a path immersed in the pine forest that leads to the splendid Coche basin; we will go up in a forest of Scots pine until we reach the panoramic peak of Punta Clari, here we will be able to see the remains of bunkers, trenches and military structures among the small grassy clearings that characterize the environment. The panorama on the southern side of Mount Chaberton and on the Montgenèvre hill is very interesting in all its breadth .

GEOLOGICAL TRAIL OF THE CHENAILLET2650 m 

â–º SUNDAY 24 JULY / TUESDAY 16 AUGUST / *

A journey through time to discover oceanic rocks over 155 million years old, to discover the Chenaillet, an ancient underwater volcano, and the formation of the so-called pillow lava, a type of lava rock, formed by characteristic pillow-shaped structures due to the lava spill below the sea surface. Fantastic panorama from the summit.

THE PETIT VALLON MILITARY BATTERIES 2208 m 

â–º   SUNDAY 17 JULY / WEDNESDAY 24 AUGUST / *

Discovering history and nature by climbing old military mule tracks along the southern slopes of Mount Chaberton, we will reach the 2208 m altitude of the High Battery, located in a large, very beautiful and panoramic meadow at the base of the summit part of the Chaberton, which is looming above with all its grandeur. We will discover along the itinerary: roads, underground passages and military structures dating back to between the end of the 19th century and the Second World War.

MOUNT CHABERTON AND ITS FORT3131 m

â–º SATURDAY 30 JULY / FRIDAY 19 AUGUST / *

Excursion to Mount Chaberton 3131m, an imposing mountain that stands isolated higher than all the surrounding peaks, with a military fortification of extraordinary interest at the top, crowned by eight large towers that take us back in time, at the turn of the end of ' 800 and the second world war. Starting from Claviere we will go up a stretch of forest road that goes up to the Vallon des Baisses, then the steeper stretch that climbs up to Col du Chaberton 2671 m. From here we will continue on the ancient military road, with sections that are now not very easy, until we reach the summit where a panorama opens up that extends from Monviso to the Ecrins up to Mont Blanc. Excursion of great interest due to the various naturalistic, geological and historical aspects that it presents and which requires good training due to its length and height difference.

THE LAKE OF SEVEN COLORS2329 m (departure from La Coche)

â–º SATURDAY 9 JULY / WEDNESDAY 10 AUGUST / *

We will follow the path that goes up Vallone Gimont in the larch and fir forest until we reach the Pian Gimont Refuge located at 2060m in the large basin surrounded by the peaks of the La Plane, Gimont, Cima Saurel and Cima le Vert mountains. From here we will continue on a less evident track in the upper part of the valley, on the slopes covered with flowery meadows until we reach the watershed ridge at an altitude of 2400m. Here the panorama extends to 360 °: from the Ecrins glaciers to the peaks of Val Susa, from Rocciamelone to Rognosa del Sestriere, up to Pic de Rochebrune and Queyras. With a short descent on the opposite side we will arrive on the shores of the beautiful lake with changing colors.

MONTI DELLA LUNA LAKES TOUR2397 m (departure from La Coche)

(LAKE OF SEVEN COLORS, LAKE SAUREL, LAKE NERO, LAKES FOIRON)

A fairly demanding tour that allows you to discover the most beautiful alpine lakes in the Monti della Luna area in one day, pack your camera around your neck and leave with us. Possibility to have lunch at the Capanna Mautino refuge. Long ride but full of satisfactions.

Ascent height difference: 750 m / Length: 16 Km / Difficulty: 3/5

 

 

NOTE

â–º Required equipment: essential shoes or boots, waterproof cape / jacket, hat with visor, light gloves, wool cap, fleece, spare t-shirt, sunglasses, thermos or water bottle (minimum capacity 1L), packed lunch, sticks (optional)

â–º All routes take place on good trails, good preparation is required based on the difficulty of the chosen itinerary.

â–º The program in relation to the weather and mountain conditions may undergo variations.
